PUERH - loose leaf black tea 150 g
Product detailed description
Discover the unique character of authentic PUERH tea, sourced from ancient tea trees in the mountainous regions of China's Yunnan province. This 100% loose-leaf tea from the leaves of the Chinese tea plant (Camellia sinensis) stands out with its full, bold flavour, characteristic earthy notes, and natural plant polyphenols.
PUERH is renowned for its traditional processing method, through which it acquires its distinctive flavour profile. The tea leaves naturally contain caffeine and a variety of plant compounds, including polyphenols and flavonoids.
With the option of both hot and cold brewing, you can enjoy it throughout the year – as a cosy, warming drink or a refreshing tea during warm days.
What makes PUERH exceptional?
High-mountain origin from Yunnan Province – a tea hailing from the mountainous regions of China, famous for their long tradition of tea cultivation.
Tea from ancient trees – leaves sourced from older tea trees, prized for their characteristic flavour profile.
100% Camellia sinensis – pure loose-leaf tea with no additional ingredients.
Natural polyphenols and flavonoids – plant-based substances that occur naturally in tea leaves, the presence of which is influenced by the processing method.
Natural caffeine content – a characteristic component of true tea, known for its stimulating effect.
Traditional processing – the specific processing method gives the tea its bold flavour and characteristic earthy tones.
Two ways of preparation – enjoy PUERH traditionally served hot or as a refreshing cold-brew tea.
How to prepare PUERH?
Hot brewing
Use 5 g of tea per 500 ml of water at a temperature of 95–100 °C (immediately after boiling) and let it steep for 5 minutes. Then allow the tea to cool down to a temperature below 40 °C.
Cold brewing (prepare a day in advance)
Use 5 g of tea per 500 ml of rested water at room temperature. Leave the tea leaves to infuse freely overnight in the fridge, without using a strainer. In the morning, strain the finished tea through a sieve.
